I can confirm that the scheduled backup task does work.

if I were you, I'd check to see if the SCCM system account is an admin on the sql servers...or at least that it has the rights it needs on the db.

my first thought is that it looks like a permission issue. (however...I am reading and responding via my phone, so I might be reading it wrong.)

Hi Jarvis,

Thank youn for a very informative messsage. I have a separate issue with my SCCM site backup. The database is hosted on 2 node Active/Passive SQL Cluster.

SPN is registered properly and Kerberos authentication is enabled in SQL Cluster.
I could able to connet to SQL Clsuter using system context by opening At/cmd interface.

Could you please confirm that in your environmet you can able to take backup using SCCM maintanance task???

I having issues with backup SQL database. The error in smssqlbkup.log from SQL Cluster node is --Error: Failed to backup Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.5\MSSQL\DATA\SMS_DV1.mdf up to C:\SCCMBackup\DV1Backup\SiteDBServer: Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.5\MSSQL\DATA\SMS_DV1.mdf is not readable.

It is givingb this error after completing the snapshot of fils locations..

Appreciate if you can suggest some workarounds.

regards,
Paparao
