Jarvis's Ramblings

Ministry Info

Campus Crusade for Christ was started by Bill and Vonette Bright in 1951 at UCLA. Since then it has grown to become the largest Christian missionary organization in the world. Campus Crusade has over 25,000 staff in 191 countries. The vision of Campus Crusade is to help build spiritual movements everywhere so everyone knows someone who truly follows Jesus Christ.

Jarvis served in various technology roles with Campus Crusade for over 15 years before leaving CCC staff in September 2008. His last role with Campus Crusade was to serve as the Systems Management Architect at Campus Crusade’s world headquarters in Orlando, Florida. He created an enterprise level system for managing the entire life-cycle of computer deployment and management. This system helped provide a more stable and reliable computer system that enabled our staff to focus on their ministry instead of trying to figure out why there computer wasn’t working correctly. The tool he used for this is Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager 2007. Jarvis is an active member of the SCCM community on myITforum.com where he posts as jdavis375.

Jarvis and Julie were part of the supported missionary staff of Campus Crusade. As a result, their salary was paid through donations from a team of individuals who donated to Campus Crusade specifically for the work that Jarvis did. A huge thank you goes out to all of those who donated for so many years. We won’t know til heaven what the full extent of your impact was. Jarvis and Julie sent out a regular prayer letter about their ministry. An archive  of some of those letters can be found here.

If you are interested in hearing about how you can support a Campus Crusade staff member who is involved in technology, send me a note via my contact form, and I would be glad to put you in contact with one of CCC’s technology missionaries.
